The Zuma Tree

On an early morning in 2010 we passed a tree stump that had been struck by lightning.
I instantly named it the Zuma Tree.

In November 2012 after much contemplation, I obtained permission (from the school where the Zuma Tree was located) to harvest the tree in order to complete the work of its creator.

You can follow the progress on Facebook here: www.facebook.com/TheZumaTree

Water Water Everywhere but not a drop to drink!

Water cascades down the northern section of Gilooly's Farm - a great place to take the kids and dogs for a romp in Johannesburg.  It is quite apt to have a water cooler bottle jammed in this highly polluted and toxic water - E-Coli counts are HUGE.

Falke Socks for Running are NOT the best

Falke the manufacturer of running socks really pride themselves in their quality however I beg to differ.  This is an example of a pair for which I logged my usage.

Eleven training runs later and they were holier than the Pope.  This is not an exception, it is the norm, so I am now on a quest to find socks for running that have the longevity that the old Nike brand used to have before they disappeared off our market.

Bomb Scare!

Until recently, this scary warning from the Appartheid days was still on a prominent wall at Balfour Park Shopping Complex in Highlands North

The Value of Real Money

Every Day a beggar sits next to this site?  Makes me wonder.

The Rabbi and The Crucifix?

Is the crucifix in memorial of a gentile that parked beyond this point?

I could not resist taking this photo on the grounds of an upmarket Johannesburg Synagogue!

The Haunted Pothole of Longmeadow

This Pothole cost me 3 tyres, a rim and a wheel trim in February.  The location was Van Rieebeck ave in Longmeadow approaching the Modderfontein rd interchange near Greenstone Shopping centre in Edenvale.

That evening I returned to photograph it when I discovered that it had eyes!
  Very frightening indeed.
